2023 The Year of Inception

We’re on the threshold of another new year, and I don’t know about you but I still feel like I could use at least another week of “yin” time!

I’m not done reflecting on this past year with all of its gifts, surprises, and lessons.

Fortunately, with Mercury retrograde for another 2 ½ weeks, we still have time for that reflection.

All in all 2022 has been a good year, which included several personal milestones for William and me…

  • In May, William’s first song, “If Your Heart Won’t Crack,” which he wrote with platinum award-winning Harold Payne, was released to wonderful reviews! If you haven’t heard it yet, here it is…

The first song of the William Hicks Project, "If Your Heart Won’t Crack"

Please "Like" and Subscribe... it all helps!

William has written over 650 song lyrics and has begun a collaboration with a talented, up & coming musician, Avrumie "Rum," who is busily crafting music as I type this for William's song, "Iowa Breeze!" We're excited for the future of this new partnership.

  • We also celebrated our granddaughter, Dainsley’s, 1st birthday!

Nothing can describe the love for one’s grandchildren!

  • We took a road trip up to Washington state to celebrate our nephew, Shane’s, 30th birthday and then over to Idaho to see my niece, Jen and visit our dear friend, Nikki Russo, this past summer…

  • For William's birthday/Solar Return, William and I travelled to Cambria to capture his Solar Return rays there.

If you’ve never thought about traveling to create the best possible chart for your personal "New Year," I highly recommend it! You can order yours HERE

Cambria is one of our favorite places on the planet, and fortunately (and perhaps because of) William (& I) have some very nice lines running through there.

We begin 2023 with the Moon in Taurus

She is close to her North Node with both of them forming an applying trine with the Sun in Capricorn.

This bodes well for a fruitful year, and with Venus forming a sextile with Jupiter, many lovely blessings are in the offing!

Speaking of Venus, she is in a tight conjunction with Pluto as the clock strikes midnight.

The intensity of passionate love is in the air! Venus in Capricorn wants what she wants, and with Pluto she wants it all: body, mind, & soul!

Retrograde Mercury & Mars

  • Mercury is separating from his conjunction with both Venus & Pluto and will be travelling back from his retrograde inception degree of 24°21’ Capricorn to 08°08’ Capricorn on January 18th.

  • Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, where Mars is still retrograde until January 12th, when he reaches 08°08’ Gemini. We’ve explored this Mars retrograde before but suffice it to say that whenever a planet is retrograde, it is closer to the Earth, and we feel the effects more acutely.

  • With both Mercury and Mars retrograde during the next few weeks, the invitation to do all the “re” words is up for us: review, revise, reevaluate, etc…

Make sure to be especially clear with your communications and please avoid initiating anything that you want done right the first time. Things started under a Mercury retrograde are bound to need to be repeated, so if at all possible, please hold off on those important projects that you’re itching to launch.

Especially since Mars is in the mix, if you have any surgeries coming up, please negotiate a time after mid-March, when Mars is well past his post-retrograde shadow degree of 25°37’ Gemini.

Of course, if this is not possible, then know that you are a co-creative child of your creator and employ all of your quantum physical mojo! Click Here for your Mercury Retrograde Survival Guide!

Who do you want to be in 2023?

The past several years have arguably been some of the most difficult in our lives.

In 2020, we had the COVID clump of Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in the latter degrees of Capricorn, where they collectively worked to bring the world to a standstill.

Stressful Saturn and Pluto aspects have been seen throughout history to coincide with pandemics, but adding Jupiter, which expands wherever he goes… and well, we all know what we lived through!

3 of our Powerful Guys, Jupiter, Saturn, & Pluto, will be moving into new signs this year…

Saturn has been in his comfort zone since December of 2017, when he first moved into Capricorn, and then Jupiter joined him at the first degree of Aquarius on the Winter Solstice of 2020.

The first two winter signs, Capricorn & Aquarius are where he is at home and strong. There is something to be said for having a planet in his own domicile, but when Saturn is at home, he can get very set in his ways!

On March 7th Saturn will ingress into Pisces where he will now be answering to Jupiter.

The next few years will be interesting as Saturn explores the final sign of the zodiac. There’s a karmic undertone to this and we may find ourselves questioning our place in the universe.

What does faith mean to you?

For me, faith is a deep and abiding trust that the universe ultimately has our backs. It may not appear that way on the surface, but when we pan back and get a broader perspective (perhaps over the course of lifetimes) we can see that the universe is fair and what goes around, comes around.

Next up is Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius.

  • He first dips his toe in on March 23, 2023, but he quickly backs up into Capricorn on June 11th to give us another chance to learn our sober Capricornian lessons.

  • On Jan 20, 2024, he’s back into Aquarius and makes it up to 02°06’ before he turns retrograde and moves into Capricorn on September 1, 2024, where he will be until he moves into Aquarius once and for all on Nov 19, 2024, where he will be until 2043.

  • Pluto is the god of the underworld, so he has spent the past 15 years in Capricorn excavating our lives and the systems that have been running our society. The cracks in the foundations have been exposed and it’s up to us as to whether we tear everything to the ground or find ways to release only whatever is clearly not working, for our own betterment &/or for the betterment of humanity and the Earth!

  • Pluto hasn’t been in Aquarius since the early years of the formation of the United States.

2022 was the year of the Pluto return, (where he was at the signing of the Declaration of Independence at 27°33’ Capricorn), but that was just the very beginning. There was a war to fight and win, and then a young gangly, fledgling of a country to form. Much of that work was done when Pluto was in Aquarius.

They say that history doesn’t repeat…but it does rhyme!

The great transformer, Pluto, is bound to provoke changes that even the most imaginative science fiction writers haven’t dreamt of. There’s a lot of talk about transhumanism these days and undoubtedly we will witness many innovative developments in the realm of new technologies. I for one am in favor of humanity exploring our own bodies’ “Actual Intelligence” (AI)!

There is SO much more to say on this, but we’ll certainly have time over the next 20 years to explore our internal tech.

We shall all see what Pluto has in store during this next transit through the humanitarian sign of the “Water Bearer,” but if ever we were to take up the mantle and grasp the controls of our lives and step into our Aquarian sovereignty, this seems as good a time as any!

On July 22, 2023, the Nodes will square Pluto. This is bound to inspire transformative awakenings. One thing I know is that Pluto always brings gifts.

“Every Adversity, Every Failure, Every Heartbreak, Carries With It

The Seed Of An Equal Or Greater Benefit”

– Napoleon Hill

One thing I know for sure is that consciousness is required as we venture into this new world that we are all co-creating together.

On May 16, 2023, Jupiter will move into Taurus and stay there until May 25, 2024, when he moves into Gemini.

Since Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and Taurus rules money, luxury, and our resources, then we could see more inflation and/or new technologies to mitigate the effects of it.

We’ll also have eclipses, more Mercury retrogrades, and Venus too will go retrograde in Leo this year, but more on those later...

May you make the most of this new year, and thrive as you awaken parts of yourself that have perhaps been dormant. This is an exciting time to be alive!

Lastly, I know that this winter season has wreaked havoc on so many people’s holiday plans. William and I had our own excitement 3 weeks ago when we found ourselves at the side of the 99 fwy just north of Madera, CA with a blown electrical system (thank you, Mercury retro shadow!) We have been without our car since then, but we are very grateful to be home, warm, safe, & dry!

Through your adventures in this coming year, may you always be Warm, Safe, & Dry!

Lean into the shift! Trust yourself! You’ve got this!

William & I wish you the best year possible!

Elise
