(Note: It is now recommended by many Vedic astrologers that when studying Vedic astrology and its methods, that you factor in the Earth's wobble, or the "precession of the equinoxes," because while circa 1940 B.C. the spring equinox (first day of Aries) was aligned with the Vedic constellation of Aries, now the spring equinox is in the Vedic constellation of Pisces, therefore it is highly recommended to know your Tropical Natal Chart! 

The spring equinox moves a degree every 72 years, so it takes 2,160 years to move through a sign "an age" and 25,920 years to pass through the entire zodiac.  We are currently in the Age of Pisces, and in about 360 years, Earth will transition into the Age of Aquarius, but we are already noticing its energetic influences via the rise of democracies & socialism, air & space travel, civil rights movements, the Internet, fusion & many other breakthrough technologies!)

(Note: It is now believed by many that follow Chinese astrology, which uses a different zodiac and calendar, that it is based partly on the planet Jupiter, since it has a 12-year orbit, and he is the planet of abundance due to his size--the ancient Chinese knew that he was huge due to the fact that he was often brighter than Venus even though he takes almost 20 times longer than she does to fully orbit the Sun--so the main take away from Chinese astrology is that it is very important to know where Jupiter falls in your Natal Chart in order to determine what part of your personality and life he expands!  (As with the constellations no longer syncing with the seasons, Jupiter no longer syncs with the calendar)
