The Sun's Ingress into Libra ~ Bring on the Holidays!

If you are like me, there is something about every season that warms your heart. I’m reminded of the song from Camelot where Lancelot proclaims his love for Guinevere in “If Ever I Would Leave You.

This song is also a love song for the seasons…

“…I've seen how you sparkle when fall nips the air.”

I absolutely love Autumn! There is something so lovely about knowing that the holiday season is right around the corner.

Ha! I have a funny memory of turning to my first husband around this time of year. I said to him, almost horrified, knowing how quickly time can seem to fly the longer we’ve been alive and how the holidays can sort of take over our lives, “Christmas is right around the corner!” His son, who was nine at the time, perked up and said, “It is!?! I smiled and said, “No, sweetheart, it’ll take a long time for you!”

Happily, before the winter holiday season, we have harvest festivals, pumpkin carving, leaves turning beautiful hues of yellows, oranges, and reds, the warming scent of cinnamon and nutmeg, and sweater weather!

There’s another thing about this time of year…the beginning of Autumn means that the Sun has crossed the equator in his journey toward the southern hemisphere.

This means that the Sun has moved into Libra, the sign of harmony and balance. The Librans in our lives are masters of cooperation and compromise…as long as fairness is in the mix.

I was raised by two Librans who taught by example. They truly did their best to be fair, which was no small feat when raising two older boys and three daughters. I remember many a Christmas when my sisters and I would receive the same gift in different colors!

Diplomacy, tact, and social charm are keynotes of this Venus ruled sign who values relationships over one’s individual needs.

This fall, may we all enjoy those precious others in our lives and look forward

to snuggling up next to a warm fire as we make our plans for the holidays…remember, they are right around the corner…but for the young ones in the crowd, “No, sweetheart it’ll take a long time for you!” Fortunately, they have Halloween and Thanksgiving to cushion the blow!

For the Libras amongst us, be sure to get your Solar Return and find out when your “10 hours of power” are!

For my fellow Camelot fans, here are the lyrics for “If Ever I Would Leave You”:

If ever I would leave you It wouldn't be in summer. Seeing you in summer I never would go. Your hair streaked with sunlight, Your lips red as flame, Your face with a lustre That puts gold to shame!

But if I'd ever leave you, It couldn't be in autumn. How I'd leave in autumn I never will know. I've seen how you sparkle When fall nips the air. I know you in autumn And I must be there.

And could I leave you Running merrily through the snow? Or on a wintry evening When you catch the fire's glow?

If ever I would leave you, How could it be in springtime? Knowing how in spring I'm bewitched by you so? Oh, no! not in springtime! Summer, winter or fall! No, never could I leave you at all!

& here is Robert Goulet singing on stage:

I can still hear my father’s beautiful baritone voice singing this song around the house…God rest his Soul. He was the one responsible for my exposure to astrology, when he hired an astrologer to do a reading for my 18th birthday!

My wonderful Libran parents loved the arts and took us to many a musical. My sisters and I were blessed to see Robert Goulet as Sir Lancelot and Richard Burton as King Arthur and I believe Eydie Gorme as Guinevere. Now I have officially dated myself! ;)

William and I wish you all a beautiful Autumn season...for those of you in the northern hemisphere, enjoy the extra beautiful sunsets!
