The Final Great Conjunction of 2020

As we are approaching the end of this epic year, I find myself filled with gratitude. Gratitude? But, Elise, this has been arguably the most painful year of many of our lives!


Yes, gratitude. Despite appearances, we are well on our way to creating a new earth, a world of clean energy, filled with happy, free and healthy people living in harmony with each other and the other creatures that share life with us.


The way in which humanity has been living is not sustainable. In the western world, we’ve been using resources as if we had 5 earths! During this year, we’ve been put on a collective time-out, and while many have complained, it has given us precious time to sink deeper into our psyches and allowed us to unearth (Pluto) our shadows…to bring them to the surface to be acknowledged and to be healed. Unfortunately, some have been wielding their shadows like weapons, which is apparently part of the process. The “in our face” examples of fear: intolerance, bigotry, and downright meanness has shown us where we have the need for greater healing.


A more positive effect of this cosmic time-out is that we have seen how quickly our beautiful planet can rejuvenate if we aren’t constantly scurrying about for someplace we perceive as better than where we are. Remember the surprising images from around the world on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day?



When I mention the Great Conjunctions, I would like you to think of them as internal patterns within you, as opposed to external planets. We are consciousness experiencing our bodies; we are not our bodies experiencing consciousness. We are all part of One Great Consciousness experiencing itself, so let’s get into this…


2020 has undoubtedly been a profound year with many significant conjunctions in Capricorn. At the beginning of this year, I wrote about the first great conjunction which began the year—it was between Saturn and Pluto on January 12th. We knew that it would be a herald of very powerful energies to be unleashed but we didn’t predict exactly how that would show up! Using the dates of the pandemic’s spread, some research revealed that Saturn/Pluto conjunctions, squares, and oppositions have coincided with global pandemics throughout history.


Then I wrote about the 3 conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto, which further exacerbated our crisis. Jupiter is the enormous planet of expansion that joined with Pluto, the small yet mighty planet of death and transformation….


Now on the Winter Solstice, Jupiter is joining Saturn at 0°29’ Aquarius. As far as I can tell, they have never joined together at 0° Aquarius. Their declination will be off by only 06’. This puts them almost right on top of each other. Every 20 years, they conjunct each other, but rarely in such close alignment.


After the heavy and difficult several years that we’ve had with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, particularly this past year, having Saturn and Jupiter move into Aquarius is a breath of fresh air! I’m not saying that our path ahead is all sunshine and rainbows, but we will definitely see a resurgence of respect for science along with quantum leaps in terms of technological breakthroughs.

Many people fear science and technology because they perceive it through an old and dense controlling and confining earth lens of the past 200 years.


Through the ages, whenever Jupiter and Saturn join together, the conjunctions happen within one particular element for approximately 200 years. Then there is a conjunction in the next element as if to say, “Here’s a taste of what’s coming!” Then usually a final conjunction occurs in the current element and then the following conjunction will herald the new element. During the past 200 years the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn happened in the earth signs.


In the early 1980s, we had that taste of the new element with the two gods joining in the air sign of Libra. We had that final conjunction in the earth sign of Taurus in 2000 and now we have moved into the new and light air sign of Aquarius, which cannot be controlled and contained in the same way, meaning that science and technology will serve the greater good versus individual self-interests. The Internet, for example, was born out of this air energy during the late 80s, but we haven’t seen anything yet! “There is nothing to fear but fear itself,” as FDR famously stated.


As we are approaching the United States’ Pluto return at 27°33’ Capricorn, which will perfect in 2022, there is a collective questioning of some of the foundations upon which our country was formed.


The United States of America was founded by brilliant minds and a divine blueprint based upon democratic principles, but when Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence…


“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”


…the huge elephant in the room while he wrote these words was that he owned slaves!



While many have pointed at the riots of the Black Lives Matter movement, they fail to acknowledge the fundamental injustice that underpinned the formation of our country and was suppressed in many ways. That which was buried has been festering and thanks to Pluto it has been unearthed, and now must be brought up into the air to be healed, as with any wound.


With this powerful influx of Aquarian air energy, the lack of equality within humanity will not go unaddressed.


So today, as you pause with the Sun on this solstice ~ Latin sol ("sun") and sistere ("to stand still"), when the Sun appears to pause on its southward journey, take some precious time for yourself to envision what your ideal world would look like both individually and collectively.


This is such a special time to focus your intentions on the kind of world that you want to be living in. It is truly time to drop any outdated patterns that are no longer serving you. Be still and contemplate on what you want to create, flush them out, write them down, get crystal clear about them because unless you are clear, somebody else will get clear for you, but with this new Aquarian energy, that somebody should be you, should be every one of us.


Whereas historically there have been brilliant individuals to look up to, we are the ones for whom we have been waiting.



This is what I know: you are here on Earth at this very special time for a reason. Each one of us has a unique gift and part to play. You chose to be here to be a part of this ride. I know this year has been painful...it has been the hardest year of my life...so many shocking losses and dear beloved friends and family members have left, but I know that there is a much higher purpose than this ultra-busy, fast-paced world in which we've been living.


This life we've been living isn't sustainable in the long run. Humanity is at a choice point: “Evolve or die,” as Eckhart Tolle stated in his book “A New Earth.” Well in my mind failure is not an option! I know that there is divine greatness in each of us and that we can live our highest purpose…but our collective shadow needed to be brought to the surface in order to be healed. That was part of the purpose of Saturn’s journey through Capricorn and his dance with Pluto over these past few years.


Now we have a once in many lifetimes’ opportunity to usher in a new world. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that there is still much work to be done, but Jupiter joining with Saturn at 0° Aquarius on this Winter Solstice tells me that we are going to make it…we’ve got this!


There are many celebrations going on around the planet such as “Unify” and “The Earth keepers Summit,” and many others.


One last thing to consider was inspired by Bruce Lipton as he discusses the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. The caterpillar that begins the cycle loves milk weed so much so that it almost destroys the plant that is its home. By the time the caterpillar begins to form its chrysalis it has voraciously consumed the milk weed. When there are no longer any leaves left it becomes very still and prepares for the great transformation.

Humanity is much like that voracious caterpillar…a transformation is necessary! Each of us has choices to make as we face the destruction of the old world and the creation of the new…


We are in the process of creating the new earth...a world that works for everyone, but it won't work from the old paradigm. Ask yourself, "If I were to create my world, what would it look like? What is my role to play in this new earth?”
