Super / Out of Bounds Capricorn Full Moon

This year’s Capricorn Full Moon reminds us that rules are meant to guide us, not confine us, as the Moon is beyond the 23°26' maximum declination of the Sun and out of bounds at 27°S40'.

The northern and southern solstice degrees are delineated by the Tropic of Cancer in the northern hemisphere and the Tropic of Capricorn in the southern hemisphere.

When the Moon, or any planet is out-of-bounds it is as if they are operating rogue and are beyond the dominion of the Sun.

At 11°18’ Capricorn, the Moon opposes the Sun at 11°18’ Cancer. This is happening within 3 degrees of the Sun’s conjunction with the brightest star in our night sky, Sirius.

Sirius is the gorgeous uber-twinkly star that we see near Orion in the winter months (in the northern hemisphere). The “Dog Star” Sirius played many important roles in ancient cultures.

The Egyptians saw Sirius as the bringer of life since its heliacal rise coincided with the annual flooding of the Nile River.

Our founding fathers, who were Freemasons, chose the Date of July 4, 1776, to declare independence from England, partially because they knew that the Sun was conjunct with Sirius!

The Moon is also beautifully supported by a trine with Jupiter. There is a softer side to this Capricorn Moon and a sense that all is in divine order and will unfold in its own time…

We still have our work and responsibilities, but with the Sun conjunct Sirius, we’re reminded that our primary responsibility is to our home, hearth, and spiritual development!

Happy 4th of July!

William and I wish you much love and many blessings,

Elise
