Libra New Moon ~ Striving for Balance

The next few days are gearing up to be quite powerful for us to navigate, beginning with the New Moon.

Today, at 4:05 am PDT, the Moon met up with the Sun at 13°25’ Libra.

This is not your run-of-the-mill peace-loving Libran New Moon!

Mars is joining the Sun & Moon this month in a very tight conjunction. So, we are getting an infusion of Martian passion, albeit not quite as assertive as it might be if he was in a sign that he rules: Aries or Scorpio.

Mars isn’t generally happy in Libra. He is our warrior god, but In Venus-ruled Libra, he is in detriment. Let’s just say that he can be a bit passive-aggressive and frustrated in Libra.

There is one interesting saving grace in that both Mars & Venus are currently in mutual reception—when a planet is in a sign that is ruled by another planet, we say that they are “answering” to that planet.

Venus is in Mars-ruled Scorpio, and she frankly isn’t super happy there either, but given that they are in each other’s signs, they can collaborate more easily with one another.

There is an uncomfortable adjustment being introduced into the mix as the Sun, Moon, and Mars are forming a quincunx (150°) to Uranus.

We might be asked to do something that we hadn’t expected or some out of the blue surprise may land in our laps. Remember that you are always at cause in your life.
We may not control the weather, but we do have control over our sails…

This is an “adjust the sails” kind of energy!

The New Moon is also opposite Chiron in Aries, which may bring up a wound to be tended to. Our wounded healer, Chiron is a great teacher.

If you’re open, the path to healing will reveal itself.
In addition to today’s New Moon, Pluto is stationing to go direct, and we are given an off-the-charts potent opportunity to do deep shadow work.

Over the next few days, please take the time to notice where you are being triggered. Are you witnessing dysfunction in other people? Are power struggles showing up? Are you giving your power away? When we simply notice, without a strategy to “fix” the situation, but rather with an intention to own our part in whatever the situation is, we can integrate any fragments of our psyches that we may not have even known that we had disowned.

When we are fully integrated, then we are able to live in full integrity and authenticity in our lives!

As I addressed in my latest blog post, Pluto will square Eris for the 5th and final time on the 8th. Given that Pluto will be stopped in the sky (from our perspective) this final square will be one to pay attention to.

I cannot overstate the importance of owning your own part in any relationship dynamic! Tempers could flare!

This coming Sunday, October 10th, Saturn will station to go direct.

When the outer, slower-moving planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) station to go direct or retrograde, they take a solid 5 days on either side of the station where they are just standing still. Saturn rules authority, rules, the structures of society, and our sense of responsibility. Both Saturn and Pluto are stationed, or stopped in the sky during the New Moon, so their energy is very much in the mix for the next month.

This is a potent time to get very clear about your life path. What is truly your mantle to take up and what is not? What is your responsibility in the world and in your personal life?
This is a powerful turning point for all of us…may we choose wisely!

Note: I do not recommend setting intentions when the Moon is void-of-course. The closing aspect (the last aspect that the Moon makes when she goes VOC) is key to setting the tone.

The closing aspect when the Libra Moon goes void-of-course this evening, October 6th at 10:03 pm PDT, is a square to Pluto. If there is anything that you are ready to completely release this is the time to do it!
The next window will open at 7:22 am PDT, on October 7th and run until October 8th at 11:05 pm PDT, when the Moon sextiles Pluto. This could be a juicy time to plant some fertile seeds.
Personally, I love the window that opens at 8:24 am PDT, on October 9th, which runs until October 10th at 9:30 pm PDT, when the Moon sextiles Jupiter. This is a wonderful time to envision your ideal life!
