♎ Libra Equinox & Aries Full Moon ~ Finding Our Center, Remembering Our Fire

There are moments when the world seems to be coming apart at the seams.
We look around at the changes unfolding in our communities, our institutions, our relationships and our own lives, and it can be difficult to know where to place our attention, let alone how to make a meaningful contribution.
And yet, beneath all the noise, I keep returning to a deep inner knowing.
What if we came here for precisely this kind of moment?
What if, on some level beyond our everyday remembering, we joyfully raised our hands and said, "Yes. I want to be part of what comes next!"
I realize that may be a difficult proposition to embrace when life feels especially demanding. There are days when simply tending to our own small corner of the world is quite enough.
But perhaps we don't need to understand the entire unfolding to recognize that our presence matters.
Perhaps the more immediate question is:
Do we remember who we are, and are we willing to own the life we came here to live?
With the Sun now in Libra, the Equinox invites us to find our equilibrium. Now, as we settle into Libra season, we are approaching the Aries Full Moon on September 26, which illuminates the relationship between our individual will and the larger world of which we are a part.
Together, these two celestial moments ask us to remember something essential:
Finding our center is not the same as standing still.
Sometimes it is precisely what allows us to move.
⚖️ The Libra Equinox ~ Finding Our Equilibrium
On September 22 at 5:05 PM PDT, the Sun entered Libra, marking the September Equinox and a turning point in the seasonal year.
At the Equinox, the Sun crosses the celestial equator, offering us an exquisite astronomical image for the Libran search for balance.
But balance is not necessarily a state of perfect stillness.
Think of someone riding a bicycle. Their equilibrium is maintained through movement, awareness and countless subtle adjustments. They respond to the terrain beneath them without losing sight of where they're going.
Perhaps that is closer to the kind of balance we're being invited to cultivate now.
Not a life without disruption.
Not an existence in which everyone agrees with us, our calendars are perpetually clear and the world behaves itself.
Rather, the capacity to return to our center, again and again, as life unfolds around us.
Breathe. Be. Remember where you are standing.
And then decide how you wish to participate.
Libra season always brings my parents to mind. Both were Libras, and in so many ways, they embodied the qualities of their sign.
They were always in conversation. I remember how dinner hour would grow later and later as they visited with one another, apparently finding just one more thing they wanted to share. One summer weekend, we actually sat down to dinner at 2 AM! In their defense, my sisters and I were all teenagers by then. 😉
And oh, how fair they were!
At Christmas, and throughout the year, my sisters and I could count on their thoughtfulness. They were remarkably attentive to making sure each of us was treated fairly, that no one was overlooked, and that we each felt equally loved.
Looking back, I realize that their sense of fairness was about so much more than making things equal.
It was about making sure everyone mattered.
Perhaps that is one of Libra's most beautiful gifts: the willingness to recognize another person's experience as worthy of the same care and consideration we hope to receive ourselves.
And perhaps that is also where the deeper work of equilibrium begins.
Because while fairness asks us to make room for others, true balance asks us to remember that we belong in the equation, too.
Libra invites us to practice this art of relationship in all its forms: listening without losing our own voice, considering another's needs without abandoning our own, and remembering that harmony is something we create together.
Libra is often associated with relationships, harmony, beauty, fairness and the art of meeting another person without abandoning ourselves.
Its scales remind us that equilibrium requires awareness of more than one perspective. But the desire for peace can become troublesome when we confuse harmony with silence or agreement with connection.
Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is listen.
Sometimes it is to speak.
And sometimes it is to recognize that a relationship, responsibility or arrangement has become so lopsided that maintaining its appearance of harmony is costing us our own.
True equilibrium makes room for everyone involved, including you.
🌬️ The Equinox Sky ~ A Larger Conversation
The Equinox chart carries a remarkable conversation among the Sun in Libra, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius.
The Sun forms trines to Uranus and Pluto while opposing Neptune. Its sextile to Mars in Cancer offers another important dimension: the possibility of bringing what we envision into the realm of caring, purposeful action.
These configurations echo the larger outer-planet themes we've been exploring throughout the year.
Uranus invites us to question what we've assumed must remain as it is.
Pluto asks us to look beneath the surface of our collective systems and examine how power, responsibility and participation are distributed.
Neptune reminds us that there is more to life than the structures we can see and measure.
And Libra asks:
How do we bring these seemingly different needs into relationship with one another?
Uranus & Pluto ~ Imagining Better Systems
The Sun's trines to Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius create a supportive dialogue between individual awareness and the possibility of collective change.
Uranus in Gemini encourages new ways of thinking, communicating, learning and connecting. Pluto in Aquarius invites deeper examination of the systems through which we organize our shared lives.
Together, they raise questions that feel especially relevant now.
Are our technologies helping us become more present, informed and connected, or are they consuming the very attention we hoped they would free?
Are our communities making room for meaningful participation?
Are we preserving familiar structures simply because we know how to operate within them?
And what might become possible if we stopped assuming that the way things have always been is the way they must remain?
Libra reminds us that a better world cannot be built through innovation alone. We must also consider the relationships, values and responsibilities that give our innovations purpose.
The question is not merely what we can create, but how we wish to live together within what we create.
Neptune ~ Remembering Without Losing Our Footing
Opposite the Libra Sun, Neptune in Aries introduces another dimension.
Neptune can symbolize spiritual longing, imagination, compassion and our awareness of belonging to something larger than ourselves. It can also describe the difficulty of distinguishing a meaningful vision from the story we desperately want to believe.
And with Neptune in Aries, the question of identity becomes especially poignant.
Who am I beneath the roles I have learned to play?
What calls to me when I stop measuring my life against someone else's expectations?
What do I believe I came here to contribute?
These questions deserve contemplation, but we needn't rush to answer them all at once.
Nor do we have to turn every powerful feeling into an immediate decision.
We can honor the dream while remaining attentive to the reality in front of us.
Perhaps the Equinox offers us a particularly useful practice: allow inspiration to expand our sense of possibility, then return to the body, the breath and the next conscious choice.
The sacred doesn't require us to abandon the practical.
Indeed, the practical may be one of the places where we learn to embody it.
Mars in Cancer ~ The Courage to Care
The Sun's sextile to Mars in Cancer offers a bridge between contemplation and action.
Mars is often associated with assertion, initiative and the willingness to move toward what matters. In Cancer, that initiative can be directed toward protection, belonging, emotional honesty and the people and places we hold dear.
This is not necessarily the courage of grand declarations.
It might be the courage to have a conversation we've been avoiding.
To establish a boundary that allows a relationship to become more honest.
To care for our bodies before they demand our attention.
To make our homes, businesses and communities more supportive of the lives being lived within them.
Caring is not passive.
Sometimes it asks a great deal of us.
And sometimes the most consequential thing we can do is tend faithfully to what is already within our reach.
The Aquarius Moon ~ Seeing the Larger Picture
With the Moon in Aquarius, the Equinox also draws our attention toward the larger human family.
The Moon's sesquiquadrate to the Sun suggests that our personal search for harmony may not always sit comfortably alongside what we perceive happening collectively.
We can feel deeply connected to humanity and still need space from its noise.
We can care about the future without carrying the entire future on our shoulders.
Perhaps finding our center begins with remembering that we belong to something larger, without forgetting that we each have our own lives to live.
The Moon's position at 15° Aquarius, a World Axis degree, adds another symbolic invitation to consider the relationship between our private experience and the wider world.
Meanwhile, the Sun's quincunx to the North Node in Aquarius asks for adjustment as we find our place within a changing collective story.
Perhaps we don't need to know our ultimate role.
Perhaps we simply need to become more conscious of the role we're playing today.
We are each responsible for our participation, not for controlling the entire outcome.
And with that, the Equinox hands us a question to carry into the coming Full Moon:
Can I remain connected to others without losing my connection to myself?
🌕 Aries Full Moon ~ Remembering Our Fire

Four days after the Equinox, the Moon reaches fullness in Aries, opposite the Libra Sun.
The scales of Libra have invited us to consider our relationships, our shared responsibilities and the art of finding equilibrium.
Now Aries asks us to remember the person standing at the center of those relationships.
You.
Not the version of you who has learned to keep everyone comfortable.
Not the version who waits until every possible consequence has been considered before taking a single step.
And not the version who believes that honoring your own needs must somehow mean disregarding everyone else's.
The Aries–Libra axis asks us to explore the living relationship between I am and we are.
Healthy independence need not become isolation.
Healthy partnership need not require self-abandonment.
And serving the greater good need not mean losing ourselves in the process.
Perhaps this Full Moon asks:
What becomes possible when I allow myself to belong to the world without ceasing to belong to myself?
🔥 The Full Moon's Conversation with Mars
Mars, ruler of Aries, is in the final degrees of Cancer and forms a trine to the Full Moon.
Here, the courage of Aries meets Cancer's instinct to care, protect and nourish.
We might ordinarily imagine Aries as the warrior charging ahead, determined to claim new territory.
But what if the territory we're being asked to reclaim is our own life?
Our attention.
Our creative energy.
Our right to establish boundaries.
Our willingness to act on behalf of what we genuinely love.
Mars in Cancer reminds us that courage can be deeply personal. It may emerge when we recognize that something precious requires our participation.
The question is not simply:
What am I ready to fight for?
But:
What do I love enough to care for well?
And what might I need to change so that I have the energy and freedom to do so?
🌊 Neptune Conjunct the Full Moon ~ Remembering Who We Are
The Aries Moon's conjunction with Neptune brings us back to the spiritual question that opened this article.
What if we came here for this moment?
What if there is something within us that remembers a larger purpose, even when the everyday mind cannot explain it?
Neptune can open a doorway to imagination, compassion and a sense of connection beyond the boundaries of our familiar identity.
But its presence also asks for discernment.
An intense feeling is not necessarily a complete picture.
A compelling vision is not necessarily an instruction to act immediately.
And a sense of urgency is not always the same thing as clarity.
This Full Moon invites us to make room for both inspiration and honest self-inquiry.
We might ask:
What feels deeply true to me, even when I cannot yet explain why?
What am I hoping is true because I am afraid of what the alternative might mean?
What becomes clearer when I allow myself a little time and space?
We don't have to dismiss our intuition to practice discernment.
We can listen deeply without surrendering our capacity to choose.
Perhaps the greatest gift of this conjunction is the opportunity to reconnect with our sense of purpose while remembering that purpose is lived through ordinary, embodied choices.
We needn't have the entire map.
We can begin by taking the next conscious step.
⚡ Uranus & Pluto ~ The Freedom to Become
The Full Moon's sextiles to Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius continue the conversation begun at the Equinox.
Uranus invites us to question the stories through which we've defined ourselves.
Pluto asks us to examine the deeper patterns that may have kept those stories in place.
Some of those patterns were once useful. They helped us belong, stay safe, maintain relationships or navigate circumstances for which we had few other resources.
But something that helped us survive one chapter of life may not be what we need to flourish in the next.
What if we no longer have to organize our lives around an identity that has completed its purpose?
What if the qualities we once believed were too much, too unusual or too inconvenient are precisely the qualities we're now being invited to bring forward?
The Aries Moon asks us to remember our individual spark.
Uranus and Pluto invite us to consider what becomes possible when that spark is allowed to contribute to something larger.
Sovereignty is not separation.
It is the freedom to participate consciously.
♃ Jupiter ~ When More Isn't Necessarily Better
The Full Moon's sesquiquadrate to Jupiter in Leo introduces a little friction into an otherwise encouraging conversation.
Jupiter can enlarge our enthusiasm, confidence and appetite for possibility. In Leo, it can invite us to express ourselves generously and wholeheartedly.
But even a beautiful vision can become unwieldy when we try to pursue every possibility at once.
We may feel inspired to make a sweeping declaration, take on another commitment or prove that we're finally ready for the next chapter.
Perhaps we are.
But we can also ask whether our enthusiasm is supported by the time, energy and resources
available to us.
We don't have to make the grandest gesture to make a meaningful one.
Sometimes the most courageous expression of Aries is simply to begin.
And sometimes the wisest expression of Jupiter is to trust that we needn't do everything today.

The Full Moon marks the culmination of the lunar cycle. As the Moon begins to wane, we enter a period traditionally associated with completion, integration and release.
After the Virgo New Moon invited us to discern what deserves our attention, this Aries Full Moon asks us to consider what we are no longer willing to carry.
Perhaps it is an outdated identity.
A commitment maintained long after its purpose has been fulfilled.
The belief that we must earn our right to rest.
A pattern of saying yes when every part of us is asking for a more honest answer.
Or the assumption that we cannot begin living differently until the entire world becomes less uncertain.
There is no need to turn release into another enormous assignment.
We might begin with a quiet moment, a journal and a few questions:
What am I carrying that is no longer mine to carry?

Release is not always a dramatic ending. Sometimes it is the moment we stop renewing an old agreement with ourselves.
And sometimes the first sign of freedom is simply that we can breathe a little more deeply.

The Equinox reminds us that equilibrium is not something we achieve once and possess forever.
It is a relationship we cultivate with ourselves and the world around us.
The Aries Full Moon reminds us that we are not here merely to maintain that equilibrium.
We are also here to live.
To create.
To care.
To bring our particular gifts into a world that needs the contributions of many different people.
And perhaps, when the world seems to be coming apart at the seams, we can remember that not everything being dismantled needs to be rebuilt in its former shape.
We can take an honest look at what is no longer working.
We can tend what deserves to remain.
We can imagine something better.
And we can participate in bringing it into form, one conscious choice at a time.
There may be rewards we cannot yet imagine. There may also be difficult work, unexpected turns and days when we need to rest before continuing.
We needn't make a promise about the outcome to recognize the value of showing up.
Find your center. Remember your fire. And let the life you are here to live begin with the next loving, courageous choice.
