Gemini Full Moon / Occultation of Mars
This Gemini Full Moon comes with an extra special show!
While we enjoy our monthly Sun Moon oppositions, this month the Gemini Full Moon (16°02’) is also occulting retrograde Mars at 16°07’ Gemini. This is an extremely tight conjunction of the Moon and Mars!

If you will be in North America on Wednesday December 7, 2022, just after sunset there are several things to look forward to…
First, right after sunset you will be able to see Venus and Mercury who have recently become “Evening Stars.”
Then turn towards the east and find the Moon. She will be right next to Mars.
If you are in Los Angeles (PST) at 6:31 pm, she will move directly between Mars and Earth and will cover, or occult Mars. This is the same concept as an eclipse!
This time of year, having clear skies can be tricky, but fortunately Los Angeles is expecting clear skies and the Griffith Observatory will be broadcasting “the show” live:
Mars Occultation Timeline (All Times in PST - adjust for your time zone):
6:00 p.m. Online broadcast begins
6:31 p.m. Mars disappears behind the Moon
7:31 p.m. Mars reappears from behind the Moon
7:45 p.m. Online broadcast ends

Astronomy vs. Astrology
While this rare phenomenon is cool to watch, what does this mean for us?
Since Mars moved into Gemini on August 19th , the desire may have “grabbed” you to do “all the things!”
Ironically, I found myself playfully repeating this phrase while William and I were visiting with my family for my nephew’s birthday. We were on a long overdue vacation, and aside from gifting my nephew his Solar Return reading, I didn’t fully have my astrologer’s hat on. It now strikes me as so funny that that phrase became my mantra during the trip and on the day that Mars made his ingress into Gemini!
If you have been struck with the need to “do all the things,” know that this is right in sync with the heavens…and also realize that it’s impossible…sigh!
Now that you’ve given yourself a moment to breathe, and although you may recognize that you’re a Quantum Physics Bada$$, you must accept that we live in this 3D realm where rocks are hard and water is wet, so you may not find all the time to do all the things!
With this very key moment in the Mars cycle, where he is directly opposite the Sun and (this is rare, folks!!!) he is conjunct the Full Moon, this is a great time to release EVERYTHING that is in your way!
Be very gentle with yourself and others during this next month. Gemini’s propensity to get scattered is likely to be amplified, especially during the holidays!
I highly recommend doing your favorite grounding exercise. One of my favorites is to take 5 minutes to notice what you notice…
Close your eyes and feel your body. What sensations are you aware of? Is there a savory scent in the air? What sounds are you hearing?
Now open your eyes and notice your surroundings. Look at your environment with the “Masters Eyes of a Child.” See the world as if you had no words to describe it. What stands out to you?
Now take a moment and ask yourself, “What is most important in this moment?”
Take a few moments to journal.
