Eclipse Season – Taurus Solar Eclipse Brings Surprises

Have you been enjoying this glorious season so far?

Back on April 12th, Jupiter joined with Neptune, beginning a beautiful new cycle with the 2 Lords of Pisces joining in the dreamy, artistic, compassionate, and spiritual last sign of the zodiac! This is especially powerful given that Jupiter is the ancient ruler and Neptune is the modern ruler of Pisces. You can read about that in my blog here. We allowed ourselves to dream our dearest dreams and plant some precious seeds! This past Wednesday, Venus, who is exalted in Pisces, met up with Neptune to fuse her glorious beauty into the mix, and now tomorrow on Saturday, just moments after the Moon joins with the Sun, Venus will join with Jupiter at 27°58’ Pisces. I cannot overstate how fantastic this energy of love, romance, spirituality, and music is!

There is a sense that everything wonderful is possible with this aspect!

Every month we look forward to the fresh beginning that is available with the New Moon. Twice a year, when a New Moon or a Full Moon is close enough to one of the Lunar Nodes, we find ourselves in Eclipse Season.

This year’s Taurus New Moon is within 18° of the North Node, so we will have a Solar Eclipse. The Moon will join Sol at 1:28pm PDT on April 30, 2022, at 10°28’ Taurus.

This eclipse is part of the Saros Series 119, which began on May 15, 850 o.s. (old style) at the North Pole and has been slowly unfolding over time until it will end on June 15, 2094, at the South Pole. This eclipse series is toward the end of its cycle and therefore this eclipse is partial and will only be visible in Antarctica and the southernmost portion of South America.

*Note that just because it’s a partial eclipse doesn’t mean that it won’t be potent. All eclipses can pack a punch, especially if they activate a sensitive place in your chart!

The beloved Bernadette Brady is one of the preeminent scholars on eclipses. She has a different numbering system for them and has assigned this eclipse to S.S. 6 North. In her book, “Predictive Astrology – The Eagle and the Lark” she says this about this eclipse series:

“This family of eclipses is concerned with the individual’s relationship to father figures, authority figures or the need to take responsibility and control. This is a time to accept

the commitments that are presented, commitments which could occur due to another person’s illness or another person’s unreliability.”

Now this will mean different things for each of us and again would be more relevant if you have planets or sensitive points within a couple of degrees of the 10° Taurus or Scorpio.

The Joys & Pitfalls of Taurus

The Taurus season is when we deepen into the joys of our senses. The fixed earth sign, Taurus loves to enjoy the gifts of our 3D existence on earth. From the feel of soft grass or sand beneath our feet and the warmth of the Sun’s rays on our skin; the scent of Jasmine, or coffee in the air; the taste of a fresh cut lemon (did you just notice your bodies response to that suggestion?); the sound of a songbird, or leaves rustling in a breeze, or waves crashing on a shore; the sight of your favorite place in nature, whether it’s the tranquility of a mountain meadow, or the majesty of the Grand Canyon…we are here to enjoy this beautiful place we call home!

Our precious Mother Earth/Gaia is alive with wonder and there is so much to take in. She is inviting you to take some time to let yourself bask in her beauty. Taurus reminds us that there is great value in embracing all that we hold most dear…

There is a distinction between embracing and attaching, though.

With Uranus conjunct the Solar Eclipse, we will want to check any tendencies toward “Gollumistic” ways of being. In The Lord of the Rings, the peace-loving Hobbit, Smeagol, who was probably a Taurus, (actually, most Hobbits remind me of Taureans) finds the “Ring of Power.” We know the rest of that story….

As much as we love our things, unhealthy attachments can lead to ruin. Not to introduce a thought of disaster into the mix, but what would you do if some unforeseen event removed everything that you hold dear?

The more present that we are in our experience, the more able we are to embrace without attachment.

Taurus loves to possess, but do we love to be possessed?

Uranus with the Sun and Moon is here to help us enjoy with detachment. He’s adding a great deal of excitement and unpredictability to this lunar cycle!

I realize that I dropped a few thoughts that could induce fear. Just notice what you did with them. Did you go into fear? Has anxiety just presented itself? Remember that thoughts and feelings come and go. They are not who you are, nor are your possessions! Who you are is so much greater than your “Precious” possessions…

You are an infinite expression of the all-ness of creation!

You are not defined by your things, but by who you are and how you express yourself.

This may be easier said than done, but Mars in Pisces is sextile the Sun, Moon, and Uranus, and is supporting us with our quest to enjoy without agenda… and remember that this Eclipse chart also has that extremely tight Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Pisces!

There is so much to look forward to!

So, enjoy the beauty of the season and be willing to notice how and where you may be gripping a bit too tightly. Notice where in your body are you tensing…now breathe and relax…let go, and trust that the universe has you. You are here and now…enjoy all that you find in your realm that is yours, but not yours!

Timing & A Special Announcement

The more that William and I tune into the rhythms of nature and the cosmos, we have been dancing with the energies and practicing mindful awareness of our own internal clocks and how they sync with the cosmic timing of various transits…

William has always been a prolific artist, but something significant happened last year that has to do with his Progressed chart. Last June, song lyrics began to pour out of him! To date, he’s written over 300 songs, and tomorrow the first collaboration will be available. We love how it came out and we hope that you will too and that you will share it with your sphere. The more buzz that we can create, the sooner he can complete his first album!

Stay tuned for the release of “If Your Heart Won’t Crack” by

The William Hicks Project,

featuring the amazing Harold Payne!

We will be sending out an email to our fans and creating various posts…

We are very excited! The artistic energies of Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune joining in Pisces, along with this potent Solar Eclipse felt like a wonderful time to share his new creation with all of you!

With so much love,

Elise & William
