A Very “Saturny” Virgo Full Moon

Every month as the Moon travels around the Earth, she opposes the Sun and we have a Full Moon. Since the Sun is now in Pisces, this Full Moon will be in Virgo at 16°40’ at 4:40 a.m., on March 7, 2023.

Full Moons are by their very nature of an opposite archetype from the sign of the Sun. The final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, invites us to dive deeply into the oceans of spirit and immerse ourselves into the oneness of the universe.

  • Pisces is as woo woo as it gets while Virgo is just about as pragmatic as it gets. We need the practicality of Virgo to keep us from losing ourselves in the ethers!

The Moon in Virgo is extremely discerning and potentially critical. Virgos strive so much for perfection that they tend to see everything that is not perfect.

In the Full Moon chart…

The Moon is in a harmonious trine with Uranus in Taurus, lending a jolt of grounded spontaneity and free-spirited play, which is a blessing since the Sun & Moon are also in a wide square to out of bounds Mars in Gemini.

Mars has been traveling through the territory of his retrograde journey from last fall and won’t be out of his shadow until March 15th.

  • With both Mars and Uranus in the mix, this Full Moon could bring some high intensity. I recommend grounding exercises to keep your nervous system as stable as possible!

Saturn is not aspecting the Full Moon, but literally minutes after the Full Moon he moves from the fixed/air of Aquarius into the mutable/water of Pisces. Saturn is not comfortable in Pisces because Saturn likes structure and boundaries while Pisces is the exact opposite!

Jupiter rules Pisces, and in Greek mythology you’ll remember that Jupiter (Thor/Zeus) castrated his father Saturn (Cronus)!

Breathwork is a powerful way to stay present to your experience and move through whatever might be coming up for you.

His ingress will happen at 5:35 a.m., PST, March 7, 2023, and he will be in Pisces for a little over 2 years.

Saturn has been in his own home signs of Capricorn and Aquarius since December of 2017, so I decided to take a quick look back…

He ingressed into Capricorn on December 19, 2017, and I found it fascinating to note that the Sun was conjunct Saturn, and they were both trine Uranus, which seemed to indicate that some big changes were on the horizon for humanity!

  • While there aren’t any major aspects to or from Saturn in his Pisces ingress chart, I have the sense that we are embarking on a journey into consciousness that will be a “choose your own adventure” quest.

We are all individually responsible for creating our own experience of and connection with the Divine, so what spiritual foundation are we building? With Saturn in Pisces the phrase "Spiritual Discipline" is striking a new chord for me. We imagine and create in the spirit realm first before it manifests as matter…which is still spirit!

So what details are you focusing on and releasing over the next 2 weeks, and where will you be placing the majority of your attention over the next 2 years?

When the outer planets ingress into a new sign, these are great times to reevaluate our priorities. They are like a fork in the road, a turning point, a crossroads…
